NEW!!!

Here in America today as well as in the vast world we are under a huge cloud or spirit of unbelief. It hovers over our prayers and works in insidious ways to prevent our prayers and dominion from working. Even in the life of Yeshua/Jesus we see unbelief and doubt effecting the work he was sent to do.

Matt 13:58 And he (Yeshua/Jesus) did not many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

1 John 3:8 He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Today we have more unbelief because there are so many more people on the planet. The lost either believe in no god or in some god of their own derivation. I sometimes wonder how anyone would feel confident in bowing down to a statue made by the hands of man. It seems silly to me. One could easily drop a hammer on the idol and smash it into a million pieces. I could never bow down to such a weak god. Others are trying to revive religions that have long been dead. Again, I ask myself why would anyone try to revive something that wasn't strong enough to stand against natural?

We need to learn to recognize unbelief and resist it with all our strength. God requires faith. Habakkuk 2:5, Romans 1:17, Galatians 3:11 and Hebrews 10:38 all tell us that the "just shall live by faith". Faith and unbelief can't work in the same place. It's much like trying to put two different sorts of matter into the same space, it just can't work. The atmosphere of unbelief stops faith from working.

Unbelief comes in two forms; the first is ignorance of God's word; written and spoken. The second is stubborn refusal to believe God either in what He was spoken or in what He has inspired men to put into print. Unbelief is best defined unpersuadableness. We all fall victim to unbelief and doubt from time to time. Why? Because we tend to base our belief of things we "know" from the world around us. We base what we believe on what we can see, smell, taste, feel or smell.  We are basically "too smart" for our own good. The tree of knowledge of GOOD and EVIL killed Adam in the garden of Eden and it continues to kill us today. It requires diligence and commitment to the word of God in order to overcome unbelief. You must make a qualified decision to stand on the word of God as your unmovable foundation. If you don't you will find yourself wavering. James tells us that we are double-minded when we waver between the word and our own beliefs. We can't mix a little of this or that with the Word of God and have a strong outcome.

Verses that tell us how unbelief works in the life of the "believer".

Matt 13:58
Matt 17:20
Mark 6:6
Mark 9:24
Mark 16:14
Rom 3:3
Rom 4:20
Rom 11:20
Rom 11:23
Rom 11:30
Rom 11:32
1 Tim 1:13
Heb 3:12
Heb 3:19
Heb 4:6
Heb 4:11

The adversary uses unbelief to exalt his "knowledge" above the knowledge of God. We're told by the Apostle Shaul (Paul) to cast down "vain imaginations and EVERY high thing that exalts itself ABOVE the knowledge of God. And so when we take the time to examine why our prayers seem to be hitting a brass ceiling let's check out whether we're walking in faith or have unbelief oozing into our atmosphere of faith.

This is by no means an exhaustive look at unbelief. I am myself on the hunt for understanding of how unbelief and doubt are working in us today. I suggest that each one who reads these words take the time to study the verses. Pray in the spirit (the Holy Ghost) and talk to Abba Father our God about getting full understanding. Where we don't understand we leave room for the deceiver in. Let's shut the door on him once and for all?

Shalom Shalom
