One of the greatest things I've learned in the past year is to just say, "NO" to the enemy and anything he brings. I began saying "NO" to temptations years ago, but until I realized I didn't have to put up with poverty or sickness as well, I would put up with the enemy's attacks. If my dog was attacked in body I would command the adversary to stop his attack and leave my dog in the name of Yeshua and the attack would end. We've been given power and authority, but what good is it if we NEVER use it. I will give you chapter and verse is a second, but first let's consider someone who has power and authority; a policeman. Now imagine him watching a thief enter a bank with a weapon and holding up that bank. The policeman has all sorts of authority and power to stop the crook, but he just stands there and watches him do his evil work. That's us folks. We've been watching the devil steal, kill and destroy and we've done literally nothing for generations. It's time to stand up and say, "I'm not going to take this anymore".

Luke 10:19  Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. KJV

Mark 3:14-15

14 And he ordained twelve, that they should be with him, and that he might send them forth to preach,

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

Mark 6:7

7 And he called unto him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two; and gave them power over unclean spirits;

Luke 10:19

19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

Acts 1:8

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Acts 10:38

38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.

For those folks who argue, "BUT that was Jesus (Yeshua)" we have Paul speaking of having demonstration of power and then speaking of those who heard him having such power.

1 Cor 2:4-5

4 And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power:

5 That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God.

Matt 8:16

16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick:

KJV

Matt 10:8

8 Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

KJV

Mark 1:34

34 And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.

KJV

Mark 3:15

15 And to have power to heal sicknesses, and to cast out devils:

KJV

Mark 6:13

13 And they cast out many devils, and anointed with oil many that were sick, and healed them.

KJV

Mark 16:15-18

15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

18 .They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

James 4:7

7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

KJV

1 Peter 5:8-9

8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

9 Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

KJV

When your checkbook is empty (and you've tithed to your apostle) you shouldn't be broke. Now mind you if you're ugly to folks and don't walk in love you haven't resisted the devil. You have to resist his temptations and not just an empty checkbook. If your body is racked with pain or symptoms you have a right to resist the devil. You need to walk in love though for any of this to work. If you know  you've got lots of sin and junk between you and God confess it NOW. Don't wait for death to overtake you. Get right with God and then tell the devil "NO"! You can do this. Walking in righteousness is your right AFTER you've cleared the slate. When you sin, RUN to God. Get right with Him. Thank Him for His Son's sacrifice and then keep your heart clear of anger, resentment, frustration, grudges or anything else involving other humans. LOVE IS THE KEY. The devil is hate, God is love. Keep the lines clear between you and heaven and then just say, "NO".
