Doubt is lack of trust. We must watch for it because just like unbelief
keeps our faith from working, so will mistrust of our God and Father. I will
share a couple scriptures that have given me peace when I am tempted to doubt my
Father's love for me.
Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man,
that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken,
and shall he not make it good?
Titus 1:2 In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie,
promised before the world began.
Ps 37:25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the
righteous forsaken, nor his (God's) seed begging bread.
We have some awesome promises from God our Father. He is so wonderful to His
children, but His promises are conditional. We must walk by faith. It is how we
please Him.
Heb 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that
cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that
diligently seek him.
Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of
things not seen.
Faith is not rocket science. Faith is knowing what God has said either in
His written word or when He speaks to you personally. Then acting upon it. If
God has said or promised something He HAS to make it good. He can't say
something or promise something and not make it come to pass. His Holy Spirit is
the confirmer of the word. He takes the spoken word and the acted upon word (yes
that's nasty bad grammar, but gets the message across) and makes or manifests
it. Consider creation. Sure many believe in evolution, but evolution is man's
idea and man's mind is corruptible and not to be trusted. Man can't see from all
times or positions and therefore isn't omniscient or omnipotent. Consider
creation. God spoke and the Holy Spirit hovered waiting for His words. He
manifested those words. Some think it was instantaneous, but it took time.
Creation was a process of seed planting, death, growth and harvest. That is why
we must believe that our words SHALL come to pass. Everything in the kingdom can
be likened to a sower sowing seed. Either the seed is good and the ground is
good or the seed is foul and the ground corrupted.
Doubt holds God's love and creative powers from working. We must resist
doubt or mistrust just like we resist the temptation to sin.
The Apostle of the Lamb, Peter began to walk on water, but he began to look
at the circumstances around and beginning to sink from doubt cried out to the
L-rd. Yeshua/Jesus rescued him, but how much greater would that "walk" have been
had Peter kept his eyes on the Master? No sinking, just lots of miraculous
walking.
The just shall live by faith. We may fall prey to doubt from time to time,
but let us hold fast to our faith. Let's give God the chance to prove His love
to us by believing until the end.
